Hatha Yoga
‘Ha’ refers to the Sun, ‘tha’ refers to the Moon. ‘Yoga’ (Sanskrit root word ‘Yuj’) means to unite. Hatha Yoga is a physical practice that unites the opposites, bringing about balance and harmony in our beings.

In my Hatha Yoga class, we will typically start with a breathing practice, followed by preparing the body for Yoga Asanas, and ending with relaxation. Relaxation between Asanas will be emphasized. Sometimes, Pranayama (or breathing practices) may be introduced.

Class is alignment based, conducted at a slower pace compared to Vinyasa Yoga. This class is suitable for beginners.

Vinyasa Yoga
‘Vinyasa’ means to flow.

In my Vinyasa Yoga class, we move through Yoga Asanas we learnt in Hatha Yoga in a flowing, nonstop sequence.

This class is suitable for participants who have taken Yoga classes before, or those willing to try a moving and invigorating practice.
